Hi. I'm a newbie with coin collecting I just started yesterday. Well actually I just organized a lot of coins(which was accumulated by my mom overtime) by their year out of boredom yesterday, that it got me interested. I'm having trouble identifying the years on Taiwan(?) coins. Because they are not dated numerically. Can someone help me identify them?

Welcome to the site. :)

That has the symbols for the numbers,
and is for Japanese coins but works for others too.
The second coin is this (1993) ...

with 二十八 as 82 from the above calendar.
I look for the 年 Year symbol then look at the numbers before it.

So the third coin (with a 5 on it), has 7 10 8 then ending in that symbol,
so is a 5 Yuan from 78 year ( 7 x 10 ) + 8 making it our 1989 date on this page ...

Coin 4 is 57 Year on 1 Yen (Japan) for 1982 ...

Your first coin is also from Japan and is a 10 Yen ...

and it just has a 4 on it so works out as 1992 date.

Though all that is from the sides with the dates showing, and not sure what
the face value on the other side is. Just assuming it is the same as the
other coin pictured alongside of it. That was going down the page,
and those three on the right have been identified in reply below. :)

Briefly, using also Zac data:
  • Japan 10 Yen, Heisei 4 = 1992
  • Taiwan 1 Yuan (Dollar), RC82 = 1993
  • Taiwan 5 Yuan (Dollar), RC78 = 1989
  • Japan 1 Yen, Showa 57 = 1982
  • Japan 5 Yen, Showa 50 = 1975
  • S. Korea 100 Won 2000
  • Japan 50 Yen (missing the minting year side)

Here is an example of how I do it, using your second coin down in your picture ...

having looked for the Year symbol, it can be seen that it is on the left,
so is furthest away from the start of the numbers; so on this coin they are
to be read right-to-left. Making ( 8 x 10 ) + 2 = 82 year; if it was read the
wrong way round it would be mistaken as 28 year.
So the Year symbol is next to the 2 making it the last number in the sequence. :)
