The 1944 3 pence is nowhere near the value you are asking. BU examples can be found for as little as £9 ($12usd) Be wary of catalogue values, especially NGC as they have an astounding amount of errors.

Thanks Fluke! I was very confused by that and even more confused when I saw a couple graded examples sell at prices somewhat consistent with the price guide. I am aware that the values are largely inflated in comparison to fair market values, but was unaware of that big a difference.

Of course, I will adjust this right now.

sometimes it can be really hard to know who to trust, I found it nerve wrecking in my early collecting days. Thinking I have a coin worth 100's when the reality is maybe 5-10% of the value NGC state.

Now I just go through sold listings on eBay and other coin auctions to get the rough value, which seems to be working well for me.

​KM as in Krause? NGC is Krause like a lot of online catalogues. The only one I haven't seen an error is in Spink for UK coinage, but I imagine I will come across errors in there as well.
