I remember some time ago thinking there was a problem with the precious metal counter and Xavier telling me that the counter isnt able to count precious metals that appear in the same coin, the Isle of Man Gold and platinum nobles for example.
I have been wondering if anyone might have an idea or a work around?
What if we had a bimetal listing count only one of the precious metal contents, but have it linked to a second listing that had the other previous metal content? This second listing could then be "ghosted" somehow...
It could make the bullion counter more useful...but it would probably mess up the coin count.

Any better ideas out there?

See my last post on here : https://en.numista.com/forum/topic44590.html

I think we should have drop down lists. Then just like you can click the "Add more reference numbers", you could add another (second) metal so that both could be calculated. So you could have "Copper (.900)" and "Silver (.100)" on the same coin page, the page will only calculate the precious metals.
I like that. We would have to be able to somehow track or input for tracking the asw, agw, apw...

Hello,
I assume you are talking about bimetallic coins having the centre and the ring in 2 different precious metals.
Examples:

I don't have a solution to measure the actual weight of each metal and compute the bullion value.

Just stumbled upon that problem again.

@Xavier  Maybe it's possible to look at this problem again with the technological advancements of the last 7 years….

Besides the total coin weight, one would “just” need fields to enter the weight of the sub-metals as well. It already exists for the fineness.
