Isle of Man ends cat series

Isle of Man finishes collaboration with Pobjoy Mint or vice versa. Cat series and Angel series won't be continued. I have no knowledge about Angel series, but was it really so hard to end the cat series with nice round number - 30???!!!
Really disappointed/annoyed/sad...

I only have a few so far ...



but I look out for those dates I am missing.
That last one is not really part of the Cat series, but it has the cat on it.

so still many to get. Shame they are stopping making them.

IIRC, there was some kind of local IoM legislation to the effect that they can't make such a silly amount of different types anymore, and Pobjoy Mint ended up left out.

Unless it has something intrinsically related to Isle of Man (I don't know the details), I won't be surprised if the cat series continues under some different country.

This IoM cat series started on 1988 with Manx cat and every coin onwards has Manx cat in the background - which is IoM national symbol. Therefore I don't think Pobjoy Mint will continue the same series under different country. Different approach to the design with the same idea (one cat breed per year) - maybe but who knows who has copyright to this idea (IoM or PM)?
Anyway they had almost 3 months to end this series very neat...
