DO NOT SWAP WITH EngFan From Russia

I made an agreement to swap 16 of my coins with 6 of EngFan from Russia coins and he never sent them.
He conned me and I don't want him to con anyone else.
This is perhaps the tenth profile this guy has used. With each one he's used exactly the same method to scam several people, then right away creates the next one. How many victims in total.... 50? 100?

I used to report his profiles just as fast as he created them but after seeing them still there weeks later with 10 swaps under way, I gave up.

Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Only a few days ago I wrote a comment on the forum that I see it happen too many times how newbies are conned by other newbies (although the last category usually aren't newbies but scammers who always return on this site with new accounts).
So I gave some good advice how newbies should protect themselves and how they could start swapping in a safe way.
Unfortunately that post was in a longer topic and the whole topic seems to have disappeared. And unfortunately I can't remember the exact name of the topic, but it was a topic with several comments of Subha Barua and at least one comment of you Phil. I don't know who deleted the topic and why, and if deleted topics are saved somewhere?
Phil, reading through some of those threads makes me want to change my profile image.... seems like "Gabriel" is a cuss word around here.

I recall there was some early confusion but I reckon that by now everyone knows you are completely distinct from that loser other than sharing a name.

Phil, I was kidding. It's pretty crazy some of the stories some members wrote about being cheated.

Kaspars, Lucifer is not a good fit for me since I fell from heaven - not hell. X-D

Again from Russia. I remember that long story with sb from Russia (from Bryansk region if I'm not mistaken) who cheated people many times. Is EngFan another person?

And I would like to tell to the EngFan that you need to stop cheating people and cast a shadow on humanity in general and Russian people (collectors) in particular. If you really from Russia.
If you don't have money for collecting then start from simple Russian coins from turnover find better job with higher salary, but don't steal coins and don't cheat people anymore! And if you read it then know that theft is bad. We learn it from early childhood.
Best regards,

I am new to this site and have had 2 swaps go ok. i'm on my 3rd and 4th swaps now, 1 with engfan for... 1 kew gardens 50p (no surprise there) for 16 of my rarest coins. I had them packed and was about to post until i saw another user use their profile to warn of engfan. I instantly was skeptical and chose not to send the coins until i confirmed the tracking number which he sent.. 1 week later and the tracking number is still showing nothing. I was lucky this time, but i do think it has put me off doing any more swaps for rarer coins on this site

Of course it´s your decision, but genearlly this community is great. Take care with your swap partner. If you swap with a person with let´s say 100 positiv feedbacks. Why should he change his mint and fools you?
But of course if there is a person with just 5 positiv ratings, he can be a scammer.
Swap at the beginnig with person with a lot pos. rating. If you have yourself a lot of good ratings ask new members to send first. And so you are save, too.
But of course a 100% guarantee doesn´t exits...
EngFAN from Russia did supply a TRACKING NUMBER which does not work... it has said the same thing for weeks now and he has done it again to another member, but thankfully that member has not been conned because he did not send.

How can Numista stop this kind of disgraceful behavior happening on their site.

I know there are many good people out there but when you get SCUM like ENGFAN scamming people, it hurts.

By any chance, was this the tracking number? RA762***442RU

I almost lost my NI CW £2 on this swap

No the tracking number is: RA762840769RU
Such a shame. There are so many amazing people in this community, and a few bad apples each posing as 30 different scam artists are ruining the bunch.

I have wondered though, is there a place where new swappers can get tips? One at the top of this forum would be a big help. It obviously won't solve the problem but it could spare some people a lot of heartache.
