Charity Shop Buy...£30...silver coins...good buy?

I have recently catalogued all my coins and have been searching for a reasonably priced bulk lot that I could catalogue and get my hands on. Either I haven't found the place that coins live in Kent or I just haven't found many bulk lots that aren't over priced.
Still I was looking in a charity shop and I saw a jar of coins in their office up on a high shelf, being short sighted, I wasn't 100% sure that they were coins: I thought maybe they were buttons. So I asked..."Have you got any coins?" ..."Manager keeps them locked away in the safe and she's not here today," one lady said. The other lady has look and spots the coins (not buttons) on the top shelf. I get them down for her and then she lets me have a look through the lot. I'm practically salivating at the thought of getting my hands on some of these very nice coins, Greek, CCCP, Hungarian, British, Jersey(an), Gibraltarian, Turkish, etc. I pull out all the known silver and put it aside including some gap fillers. I explain that I'd buy the whole lot for £30 if I am allowed it...they were saying they might have to send the lot away to have it valued. So, I leave and here back from the manager a day later saying I can have the lot for £30...Wish I'd said £20?...Would they have let me have the lot for £20...I don't think so; maybe they would have...so I look through them. An UNC/XF 50p from 1969, my 2001 Coin Year book says £3...I guess something near £4 now?

These were also included in the collection and many others. I will continue to post. I am aware of the silver content...but what about the numismatic value. Any help would be very helpful.

On that topic (which you created) the first coin on your list of seven above, is the same as on the other topic - so the value is on the page I gave a link to. On the top right of it you can type the country and denomination and date, and a list of coins appears and select the correct KM number.  :)

Your second coin above, I typed  egypt 2 piastres 1937  and in the results chose the KM# 365 result. I typed 1937 as that is the Western date, and is the first in the date range i.e. KM# 365 is 1937 to 1942. Picture is here - I highlighted in green on the top right what I typed in, then clicked Search ...

Ok thanks ZacUK...I will look them up...I shouldn't have put that one up (1917) as you had already answered that one. Sorry. I looked at it and meant to thank you.

Cool - I myself did not know about that site until recently, when I saw it on another topic. So I tried it with your coin on the other topic and was the first time I did it for myself. I find it handy as there is a range of prices for each year; so only you can look them up as you have the coins (nice ones I think) so only you can tell the grades - plus you did not say what the years were (some could be rarer than others). Thanks  :)

Yes, my friend. I should be doing the leg work myself. I guess I was considering putting photos up to help with grading. Anyway...I've discovered a few more silver coins and will need some help on identifying  a number of coins (soon to be scanned).
Great buy Bam! Envious.....!
