Since Numiscorner adds started somewhere around last year, I have noticed the number of users following their values as a norm...
Of course we always have the right to value our coins with the best reference available... (I don't think KM catalog is the best) but thinking each single coin has a value of 5 Euros is quite annoying.
Its just me or anyone else has noticed this trend?
Their prices are ridiculous. Just checked a couple of German 2€ CC and even a pricey Ebay shop sells UNC coins for less than they mark it at...
Haven't actually heard of that website before but I figure they're a retail website trying to make profit whereas here we're equals enjoying our hobby.
The main problem I see is that any guy on the site who has no idea of the value of their coins will (very likely) see their add everytime the go to one specific coin with a ridonculous price and immediately think that's a fair and real price...
I find Numiscorner to be ridiculously and unrealistically expensive and I would prefer them to be gone from Numista forever. It really misinforms and creates a lot of confusion.
And just opposite, I find that eBay listings of the coin in question is quite helpful though there is a little catch - when it comes to the "market price", one should look at the "sold items" prices rather than the asking price or current auction bid.

I haven't checked this site, but theoretically if both swappers choose one source for the price estimations their swap will be equal. Especially if they have coins with more than 1-2 countries and equal historic period in their sets. All deviations will compensate each other.
My personal list of scammers from Numista: erniemix, yvain, CassTaylor

Usually this is true, but in Numiscorner all coins under certain value are priced at 5 euros, it doesn't matter whether its value is 30 cents or 3 euros. So in the end, in this case, they won't compensate if your are guided exclusively by their prices.

Chances are very low... specially if new members with little knowledge of current or realistic values...
I disagree with many catalogue values, but sometimes I have to accept them just to have a swap completed!
