What a moment it must have been for Wanda Robson, Ms. Desmond's sister. I wonder what Desmond herself would have to say about it.
I saw yesterday a Video of a woman who was the first woman to run a Marathon in the 60's or 70's cannot recall it.
But she enrolled with her initials and was followed by her husband and trainer, one moron from the organization tried to pull her out of the run when he realized that it was a woman... long story short story she finished the race and after 4 years women were allowed to run Marathons...
This video is great material for inspirational moments at work or university... Will try to paste the link here.

It's Kathrine Switzer at the Boston Marathon in 1967.
How have you determined that some coins are or are not FAO? Every coin that you said was not an FAO or you weren't sure if it was has the initials for FAO, the legend for the year of woman, or the logo.

Most of the IYW or International Year of the Women were issued as part of the FAO series, Coin Catalogs refer this type of coins, FAO Albums and Panels had some of this coins included (depending on the year / version) I have several of them in Albums and Panels... I also have an specialized catalog only for FAO Coins, but even your normal World Coin Catalog will have them.
As for those that I mentioned I am not sure... well it's interesting to see a bunch of coins from 1975 with the same motto, but not all of them considered as part of the same series... perhaps some poor documentation 40+ years ago...
I have the above two albums, you can clearly see they some of them were part of those 2 editions...
