At the time of writing this, the new Canadian $10 note will be unveiled in less than 2 hours. You can catch all the action on the Bank of Canada website.
12:30 Atlantic Time = 11:30 Eastern Time = 8:30 Pacific Time = 17:30 western Europe
That's our first vertical design. I'll save one when they are released, which will happen only towards the end of the year. Some collectors will be bothered by the fact that the vertical design doesn't fit in their albums or display cases.
Verweis : "Camerinvs"... which will happen only towards the end of the year...
Where did you get this info from? I was going to go to my bank Monday morning and ask for a bunch...
They say it in the video. I think the Facebook postings of Canadian Coin News and maybe of the RCNA do say it as well. More importantly, it is in the Bank of Canada press release.
The minister says in the video that he was supposed to hand back all the bills used for the unveiling, but it looks like they'll make an exception for Wanda.

Thanks! Obviously I haven't watched the whole thing and haven't read the press release.
The way they phrased the press release suggests that they don't yet have a fixed date for the issue. It may well be that they are looking at how the stocks of "John A" $10 notes are being released before committing to any specific date.
In the press release they say that the next note to be changed is the $5 bill and that Laurier (like Macdonald) will be moved to a higher denomination. The $20 note will still bear the portrait of the monarch -- the queen for now and perhaps for some years to come ... perhaps even another decade??
Wow! Thanks for the update. The note looks stunning especially in the new vertical design format. It’s a great feeling to see a great civil rights activist like Viola Desmond getting honoured on national banknotes.
