Harriet Tubman and others?

If all happens as expected, we will have a new 20 dollar bill. She is expected to be depicted with a headcloth. She suffered her whole life from a brutal beating at the hands of someone who owned her at the time. The cloth could be loosened or tightened as her condition required. At least one other person is depicted on notes wearing headcloths for the same reason. And others are shown wearing headcloths for their own sake. Who?

I heard about it a year or two ago, but thought that had been cancelled?

The process for design change has begun. No decision has been made to not put her on the new 20. They have not announced a different design. Unless they do... the assumption is she is on the note. But back to the thread...

Speaking of the headcloth, what you said reminded me a bit of José Morelos, a Mexican priest and leader and martyr in Mexico's war of independence against Spain, depicted on the "barely silver" Mexican 1 Peso: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3550.html

According to his biography he wore a similar headband like Tubman's, visible on the coin, to relieve migraines.

Anyway, when you say:

"At least one other person is depicted on notes wearing headcloths for the same reason. And others are shown wearing headcloths for their own sake. Who?"

Do you mean notes from any particular country?
Well...its kind of a game. Morelos is correct by the way. He is on a number of notes of Mexico. And yes. I have a specific note and nation in mind. I have discovered that a number of folks on here find other notes I had never thought of. Guess away.
