So, we're not going to reach here in the "by year" thread for a few years at the fastest, so here's an 11 day topic.
I've seen no threads just letting people show off their medieval coins, so go! Copper, Silver, Gold, broken, worn, un-identified, just show them all!
four rules:
--During the day specified for the century.
--Pictures of your actual coins, a picture you took, preferably taken right now. no limit to number of coins per user, show them all! But must be actually yours.
--Post the catalog reference if you have one, if not create one if you can. If just not enough info, go ahead and post anyway!
--non dated, the century most overlapped
1500's - finished
1400's - 21st July
1300's - 22nd July
1200's - 23 July
1100's - 24 July
1000's - 25 July
900's - 26 July
800's - 27 July
700's - 28 July
600's - 29 July
500's - 30 July
I think I've got coins for 1400's, 1300's, 1200's, 1100's, 1000's, 900's, 700's. Some are Chinese cash, some are Burgundian Netherlands or Low Countries.
I'm sure that members here have some gems to show.
Verweis : "sc.rednek"Wow, you have them all? This sounds fun, let's see... 1517?
That last one's a 97 rarity, so you're the only owner. But the picture on the catalog isn't yours. Strange...
My "per year" breaks somewhere in the early 1900's
1517 -- Ottingen, 1 batzen:
(This one is apparently not in the Numista catlog, but it is in Krause -- MB#15 )
Verweis : "phfoticus"Why stop at the 500s?
A century thread like this can easily go back to the -600s (600BC to 699BC, although I have none of the early electrum coins from the -600s).
Some of the centuries from the ancient era (like the 300s, through to the -300s) are much easier than the 500s, 600s, and 700s.
Well you get into the roman era, and there's a zillion of those, not sure how to run that thread. If you have an idea, go ahead and start it. Maybe by ruler? And once you're around 0 AD/BC, maybe empire/region? Medieval seem to be more uncommon that roman, even though they're newer
Going really old, I have this one, it's bronze not electrum, and I haven't been able to ID it but from the method I know it's old (as far as I can tell no reverse design).

ok we're off topic, back to the 16th century...
The easiest way is to just extend the current thread. For example:
400's - 31 July
300's - 1 August
200's - 2 August
100's - 3 August
000's - 4 August
-000's - 5 August
-100's - 6 August
-200's - 7 August
-300's - 8 August
-400's - 9 August
-500's - 10 August
-600's - 11 August

Each day covers every coin from a century.
If anyone's paying attention, there will be a ridiculous number of posts for the 400's, 300's, and 200's, I have about 20 that I've fully ID'd, about about 30 more I haven't. I started this thread for medieval coins, if you want to extend it start a different thread after that, go for it! But "by century" won't work well
Burgundian Netherlands (Namur) - Double Mite - William II (1391-1418) https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces37355.html
More likely to be from the 1400s... The scan I made some time ago is very bad, sorry.

To be fair you could just limit the amount of coins posted per person, say 5, if you don't want a million barely identifiable late Roman issues clogging up the 200s/300s/400s. It's what I suggest doing, anyway.

I suppose I should mention that CCF forums had a by-century thread that covered all centuries from the 2000s AD back through the 600s BC (at least), and they had no problems with excessive posting. Most posters just posted their best coins for each sentury. They allowed one week per century, but I think that made the thread too slow.
Verweis : "phfoticus"1498 -- Duchy of Brabant/Antwerp, toison d'argent/double briquet (Levinson II-141, Frey 479):
(I don't think this one's in the Numista catalog -- it's not even clear where it would go, since the existing Brabant section cuts off in the 1300s)
Burgundian Netherlands, apparently. Here's the coin page (though rather weirdly set up). Rarity 100 at the moment.
I think I have two or three 15th century coins with pictures (sadly I got distracted and forgot to show off my 16th century stuff). I should probably make a separate post for them, however.

Thanks for the info -- the catalog says these coins are undated, although the Numista picture shows one dated 1498.

I had a lengthy reply there and lost it to unexpected miscopying and a misplaced edit.
If the organizer allows, I will rewrite it again, but if so, this would be in a separate post.
(Might as well work out my 1500s and 1400s entries as well, because I also got distracted all through those days, and my entire offer for the 1200s consists of two Byzantine AE scyphates in terrible condition that I attribute to the 1200s because what else, and one Genoese quartaro whose official time range is something silly like 1139-1393 and the 1200s is that range's only full century.)
Um, I have a bit of a silly question. I had basically finished my post for the 1300s when I had unexpectedly lost it (yes, including the already-sent preliminary part) to an especially unfortunate combination of miscopying and weird browser bugs.
1) Can I still try to rewrite my post, in a separate comment, despite it already being the wrong day?
2) If so, can I post entries for the 1500s and 1400s as well? I had several coins I planned to show off for each of those periods, but got distracted and forgot to compose a post.

I saw it, then was wondering why you deleted it? Don't know how to help you out with the browser bugs though...
definitely re-post the 1300's, since it was before the end of the day! The other's centuries, I guess go ahead and share, this is a very unofficial, short thread

That ends the "official" portion of this thread, if anyone want to post pictures from centuries they missed or whatever. It was fun, thank you everyone!
If anyone wants to continue or extend the thread farther back or something, feel free to start up a new thread and I'm sure I'll participate if I can
