I purchased these notes for $6. I liked the artwork reminded me 1960's psychedelic concert posters of the San Francisco scene. These are all in CU (crisp circulated) except for 200 mark with the brown spot . A local coin dealer has entire box of these maybe 80-100 different notes with alot of duplicates. I buy from him weekly so I know he will negotiate if I buy 100 of these notgeld . What should I look for ? demonation? Am I correct in assuming that these are copies? Neverthe less the artwork is very pretty so I think it would be a nice addition at at affordable price

Thanks in advance for your input

Hello,

What do you mean when you assume they are "copies"? I should hope that there isn't a dealer selling fake notgeld out there....

In any case, collecting German and Austrian Notgeld issues from roughly 1914 to 1924 is an entire field of its own. Here's a site you might want to get familiar with: https://notgeld.com/

By the way, your 200,000 Mark note is not a notgeld issue, but rather a regular German note of the time (which can be differentiated from Notgeld by the word "Reichsbanknote").
Thank you that site is very informative.

I assumed (knew they were reprints) didnt ask my friend the coin dealer and he didnt say because it was a given. I have been doing business with him for over 10 years. He has been at my home, we have shot pool together some things in our relationship are just left unsaid.
That particular day I purchased a VF Hawaii Emergency Silver Certificate for $30 he wanted 40 , so I paid 36 and he threw in the 3 notgeld.
Thinking of buying about 75 of the reprinted notgeld and offering him 35 -40 dollars. Then I will have a pretty decent collection, put them in a cigar box and move on. I enjoy collecting coins and currency that relate to the war effort(silver nickels, steel cents and so forth. So a Notgeld collection fits right in
I am sure you are aware that in 7 days a century ago the armistice was signed. At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the Great War was over.
