According to Gadoury and Cousine, in "Monnaies Coloniales Francaises" (1988), the French Colonies 5 and 10 centimes coins dated 1839 A and 1841 A were minted for use in Guadeloupe. Similar coins dated 1827 H were minted for use in Guadeloupe and Martinique.

Adding to what halfdisme has said, those 1825-44 issues labeled "Colonies Françaises" of 5 and 10 centime coins were issued for use in various French colonial territories, so for example the 1839 5 centime coin would have been intended to circulate in Guadeloupe, but the same coin dated 1844 was intended to circulate in French Polynesia (the Îles Marquises specifically).

That means the mintage of 1839 was shipped to Guadeloupe and that of 1844 to the Marquesas Islands (for example), but that doesn't mean they circulated uniquely there (e.g. by 1848 you could probably find some of the 1844 dates circulating in Guadeloupe or Sénégal). There's also some evidence they might have circulated to a much lesser extent even in metropolitan France, with the absence of French small change 5 and 10 centimes copper denominations between 1815 and 1853, but I have yet to confirm that.

So I (and the SCWC and Numista) wouldn't call it a coin from Guadeloupe, at least not like the clearly Guadeloupéen 1903-21 issues later, but rather a coin from the French colonies issuer that was intended for circulation there.
