Here's something a little different - a token issued to Senators in Cologne to be exchanged for a flagon of wine. Struck intermittently between 1730 and 1797 the date of 1730 was unchanged. Billon with a copper plug to deter forgers. The guy who I got it from told me that it's the first ever bi-metallic coin.

$30 including shipping. Cash, PayPal or junk silver. Will consider trade for quality UK pre decimal coins at $40.

Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

LOL! It looks more like someone's nose bleed than a bi-metallic. :P

The guy you got it from was very wrong, then.

Even considering coins with plugs such as these to be "bi-metallic", just off the top of my head I can think of some English copper-plugged tin farthings issued decades earlier, under the Stuarts.
