A friend gave me this dime he found in his washing machine. It worked great for explaining to my granddaughter the difference between clad and silver.

I have a few Ukrainian coins that seems to have had a similar story. The gold plating around their edges seem to have been washed or rubbed off.

Hmmm.... Looks like plated to me instead of cladded. Usually you an spot difference by looking at the edges if it is cladded. But when it's unc, it is harder to spot it.

This is one very good example.
