A great design and about time Alan Turing was honoured. His being gay led to him being vilified and hateful ungrateful society.
Turing was blackmailed in 1951 by a gay rent boy who stole his father's watch. Turing could not report the theft as they would fined out he was gay which was a prisonable offense then, and we he was convicted of sodomy he was offered the choice of jail, a lobotomy or chemical carstration. He chose the last which involved him being forced to take female hormones that killed his sex drive and he took his own life a year later in 1954.
It was also the same year of the Montagu/Wildblood sex scandal and a lesbian couple in Christchurch New Zealand murdering one girls mother (Parker Hulme).
