I would say mine is a Canada 1 dollar bill from 1937. It is in two parts.

just can not throw it away. so I just keep it.
It is, what it is, or is it.
This one is in pretty poor shape, small note from Poland, 1941

I’m surprised you still have the two parts
I have several that were at one point in two pieces, but most were taped back together at some point:

Early British colonial, not to be easily resisted! :°

Two Italian notes from 1918 and 1874 respectively that I got for free from a friend in Rome.

This is one of three banknotes that were given to me by a man who obtained them as a prisoner of war in Germany in the 1940's.
They were kept in his wallet ever since his return to England.
I worked close to him for quite a few years, and our conversation got around to his past, where he said he had been in a German prisoner of war camp. During one of our many conversations, he showed me the three banknotes.
On the very day he retired, he gave them to me as he knew of my interest in WWII. I promised him, I would never sell them, never give them away or swap them. To this day, I have, and will continue to keep my promise.
Strange as it may seem, but a few years later, his daughter married my wife's brother, and I met him again.

A great story COINMAN1.
Notes to treasure for sure.

Dave,
Thank you for your lovely comment. This banknote is actually my first German banknote in my collection, followed by the other 2 he gave me.

I think this note is more tape than paper
As it is dated 1923, making it 96 years old, I think I would look the same at that age.
As my oldest $1 banknote is 1977, I think it is quite impressive.

My worst by far, I think, is this one:

I have no idea how it ended up in my collection. I really hope I didn't buy it in the early days when I was new in collecting. I've kept it because..well, do I even have to explain? It's a beauty! It's on the list to be upgraded, since a few years back. Don't know why I have't done it yet.

Another, in excellent shape in comparison, is this one:

Got it from a friend who was in the military and went to Afghanistan (now she's a nurse!) She brought back four or five in similar condition (but different denominations). As you can see it's in already in plastic, and she said "I don't think you should open it.", so I haven't. Will be updated when I find it in UNC condition.

Reason for keeping it:

The first two are both 1979, but with different signatures. Bottom one us 1991. (So I just need 1990 to have them all. ;))
Oh, I found these as well. Not really mine though, since I'm selling off a family friend's coins collection and found these inside the binder.

Like the Denmark banknote. Never seen it before.
