Hello
for this coin
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5955.html
there are three variants:

1897 Speranza (firm of designer) without point at the end (UNCOMMON)
1900 Speranza (firm of designer) without point at the end (UNCOMMON)
1900 Speranza (firm of designer) without the initial S (R2)

I see that there is a comment about the varieties in the comments section.

But I think it necessary to insert the different types directly in the list of coins.

This is because they are widely collected variants by italian collectros and the Italian catalogs always list them

And because they have very different values.
So keeping the various types together eliminates the importance of the "quotations" section

One of them is even R2 (very rare) and clearly its value can only be very different from the common one

Thank you very much
I think, it's enough to have the comments section as is, BUT it would be even nicer if images of those variants were made available as well? If you have hi-res images of them, I don't mind to set up the documentation for you?

The reason for me not thinking it's NOT a good idea to multiply the year lines is simply, that on used coins you can't see which variant you have, so the lines will be used wrongly, which will upset deals. Another reason is that many collectors are not into variants, just collecting by type, so they don't care where the coin is entered, same result for trades.

If you, like me, is a year/variant collector then just make a personal comment of the variant(s) you have.

Hello

These are the differences
Now the NOTE in OBSERVE
"NOTE: Coins dated 1900 exists in two variants:
- one without point after S (quite common)
- one without the initial of the engraver (very rare)"

can be deleted and the image can be placed between the comments where the variants are described

however, I remain convinced that it would be better to list the variations between the coins to have a catalog as complete as possible

Hi,

whatever the referee's decision will be, I think this documentation will be more helpful in any case, than all the texts?

Thanks for the image, which I have modified, as you see.

What do you think?

The different types are listed. The link I entered concerns a similar currency with similar variants ;-)
Hi Michele,

yes, but to document that I again need hi-res images?

Take care, Ole

Hello.
Thanks for your patience.
Isn't the image that I sent you, or even better the reworking you did, enough?
Yes, I did some improving on it.... that's why I need hi-res!
