Of course it is better to send via registered mail since it is secure, insured and should ensure that the package arrives at it's destination without any problem. However, this can get quite expensive for large packages being sent half way round the world. Personally, I always send my coins by regular air mail and after 62 swaps I have not lost one yet! But I generally trade common, low value coins and my swap partners have all agreed to send regular mail. Some people are ok with regular mail and I have seen some members say on their profile that they only send by registered mail so you should always check with your swap partner.

I'm not sure but I don't think registered mail is much quicker than regular mail. For example, I just looked on the Royal Mail site and regular air mail takes 3 to 7 days and costs from 87p (1.35 USD) whilst Airsure® takes 2 to 6 days and costs from £5 (7.78 USD) plus the airmail price!

In sending mail regula or registered.
It depends on the value of the coin.
I have had good luck with US Postal Service sending and receiving.

It also depends on where it is from. I swapped with a guy in Argentina and we both sent regular letter and it took about a month for the letters to reach each other but I swapped with another guy in China, we both sent regular mail and it took a week for the letters to reach each other.
I came from the Philippines and i'm making swap with a person in U.S.A..Does someone of you know how long will it take the mail to arrive? I sent it thru registered mail...
