I have 4 Japanese banknotes from 1942-1945 that I was going to add to the catalogue but I don't have enough information about them.

If you know more than me about these banknotes could you help me catalogue them?
They are Malaysian occupation notes and already in the catalog.
As before these particular ones are Malaya. There are also ones for Burma, The Philippines, Dutch East Indies & Oceania you can find more information below:

These notes are the Japanese Occupation notes of Malaya. They were issued from 1942 to 1945. They should already be in the catalogue.
These are rich in history.

The Japanese thought these notes were impossible to counterfeit, because they were made from a bamboo that was native only to a specific island in Japan. What they didn't expect was that a Japanese immigrant to the United States planted a huge grove of it in California.

Bamboo, when intentionally cultivated, is overwhelming. You can outgrow your capacity in one growing season.

So the US counterfeited these as part of the guerilla effort.

You cannot tell the difference between a real and a counterfeit. You never know which you have. They are simply that good.

By the end of the war, these were completely worthless. Local citizens threw them in the streets. American GIs picked them up, and took them home. Which is why there are so many excellent examples.
